About ClassroomToolsReview
Independent reviews of the tools that matter most in special education classrooms — written by people who actually use them.
Sarah Mitchell
M.Ed., CCC-SLP
I'm a speech-language pathologist and special education teacher with over 12 years of experience. I started ClassroomToolsReview because I was tired of vendor-sponsored “reviews” that never mentioned the downsides. Every tool on this site has been tested in my classroom or therapy room with real students. I pay for my own subscriptions, and no company has editorial influence over what I write.
What We Stand For
No sponsorships
We don't accept payment from vendors. Every review is funded independently so our opinions stay honest.
Real classrooms
Every tool is tested in actual classrooms and therapy sessions with real students — not in a demo environment.
Quarterly updates
Software changes fast. We revisit reviews every quarter and update them when features, pricing, or quality shifts.
Corrections welcome
If we got something wrong, tell us. We publish corrections transparently and credit readers who help us improve.
How We Review
Every review follows the same process: I purchase or sign up for the tool myself, use it in real classroom or therapy sessions for at least two weeks, and then write up my honest findings.
I evaluate tools on ease of use, accessibility, value for money, and — most importantly — whether they actually help students learn. I include specific examples from my own practice and note any technical issues I encountered.
Reviews are updated quarterly. If a tool improves or declines, I adjust the review and note what changed. Every update is dated so you always know how current the information is.
